Our Services
Some Common Areas of Focus:
Pre-Academic Skills
We can focus on the foundational skills that help prepare a child to learn, such as sitting at a table, looking at teaching materials, imitating behavior of others, etc.
Communication Skills
Communication is often a major focus of treatment. We focus on skills such as making requests, following instructions, and identifying common items.
Play Skills
We can focus on skills such as appropriate toy play, independent play, imaginary play, etc.
Social Skills
We can work on skills such as eye contact, interacting with peers, initiating social interactions, etc.
Daily Living Skills
We can focus on skills like hand washing, dressing, hygiene, tooth brushing, etc.
Toilet Training
We follow an intensive toilet training protocol to help your child become independent in the bathroom.
Reduction of Disruptive Behaviors
We conduct assessments to determine why the behavior is occurring, and then develop an individualized treatment plan to target the problem behavior.
Parent and Family Training
We work closely with your family to ensure that the treatment effects carry over to the home/family setting.
What to Expect from ABA Services
Your child will be assigned a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). A BCBA is someone who has earned a graduate-level certification. They must earn at least a Master’s degree, taking rigorous coursework in behavior analysis. They must also complete extensive clinical training under the supervision of an experienced BCBA, pass the certification exam, and maintain regular continuing education in the field of behavior analysis. Your child’s BCBA will be the person overseeing all of your child’s therapy and will be your main point of contact.
Treatment Planning. Upon intake, your child’s BCBA will assess your child’s skills and problem behaviors. Based on the assessment, they will develop an individualized treatment plan. They will review the plan with you and ask for your input and approval. Once the treatment plan has been approved, scheduling will begin.
Direct Therapy. Your child will be assigned one or more ABA Therapists, who will work directly with your child on a regular basis. They will be trained and supervised by a BCBA. The ABA Therapists keep a record of your child’s progress during therapy sessions, which they share with your child’s BCBA to help inform their treatment.
Parent and Family Training. Your child’s BCBA will teach you strategies that you can use to ensure that you’re getting the most out of therapy.
